Did you know this?
If you stretch a rope across a path, about a foot and a half off of the ground, then drive a flock of sheep over it, once the lead sheep jumps over the suspended rope, the rest of the flock will jump the rope as well. Interestingly, regardless of whether the rope is lowered or even taken away completely, the sheep will continue to jump just as the leader had. The flock will blindly follow their leader without reassessing the situation.

The Lord is described as being the Good Shepherd. We're sometimes described as sheep. We "blind sheep" will choose a leader to follow, as it is in our nature to do so. We might chose the Good Shepherd that loves and protects us, or we might follow a thief that scatters the flock and leads us on a path of destruction. We, in our natural state, do not have the ability to correctly assess Reality, Truth and The Way without the help of our all-knowing Good Shepherd who will guide us. We need only ask. When our Leader says "jump" we can trust His lead - whether we see a rope, or not.
