Pray
"When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake." (Matthew 8:18)
To the people on the shore, it may have appeared that Jesus was turning away from them - denying their requests. The Holy Spirit enlightens with understanding those who will receive it. The Holy Spirit reavels that everything Jesus did, even when his face appeared to be turned away, was in complete obedience to God the Father and entirely for the welfare of all who love God and His Word. When we are amidst our greatest trials, that is the time we can best show God how we trust in Him. It is also the time when our greatest prayers, asked in faith and purity of heart, will be answered.

Dear Lord, sometimes I feel so lost. When I feel overwhelmed with situations that seem impossible to resolve, it may seem that you have turned your back on me. But because I am committed to You, I know that you love me, that you are in control and that everything you do is good for me. Lord, help my sights remain on you, especially when I am sinking, for although it may feel that there is a sea between us, in reality you are here, ready to take my hand and lift my sinking soul above the raging water.
